Sensitive to Perfection

I’ve often refuted the statement that I’m a perfectionist, but just now I described myself “sensitive to perfection”. Even I have to admit that’s the same thing.

I finally bought the parts for a computer upgrade I’ve been thinking about for months. I haven’t spent my birthday money and it’s almost Thanksgiving so I’m start to feel a little “sensitive to saving” and need to disprove my cheapskate ways. I got it all from NewEgg and hopefully I’ll have it in time to install it over the vacation weekend. The shopping list is:

That final item is a silly addition so that all my components will be black to match my black case. I’m replacing enough that I’ll nearly have an entire computer left over when I’m done. I haven’t upgraded these core components for years, eschewing them in favor of external accessories or case upgrades. Currently technology has finally gotten fast enough that my computer feels sluggish. It doesn’t help that my machine at work is currently faster than at home.

I keep telling myself I need to wait for the new OS windows will put out. I�m holding on to the old till I can get new everything, but your new system does sound awesome. Let me know how the DVD burner works out for you. daveb

Unfortunately that won’t be until late 2005. There is a large upgrade in the form of XP Service Pack 2 coming third quarter 2004 though.
