As Far As I Can Tell

Ramp up, slow down

Yesterday was the culmination of many things and I still don’t have enough distance to evaluate how it all went. I’m in a class that is doing a research project in conjunction with Microsoft and they had a representative attend our first presentation. I wouldn’t describe it as a complete failure but it was far from a success. We need to step back, figure out what went wrong, and see how we can clarify things. We’ll learn from our mistakes but for this weekend at least I need to worry about catching up on the rest of my classes now that our presentation is over.

Also happening yesterday was Confluence, a career days event where we are able to meet with people from companies around the nation. In my case I’m looking for an internship this summer and spoke with Wall-to-Wall, IDEO, Adaptive Path, and Smart Design. I’d also wanted to talk with MAYA but those slots were taken. Thanks to everyone who took the time to talk with me about their company and my work.

In preparation for career days I updated my portfolio with a few new projects including something I did last semester. Check it out if you’re interested.
