As Far As I Can Tell

Happy Birthday

I just woke up in Chicago, air mattress slightly deflated, morning light streaming into Ivo’s living room, and a somewhat under the weather birthday girl still waking up. Today is Meredith’s first as an officially aged adult citizen, and all the new rights that tag along with that. I’m glad we’re in the city this weekend, though the plan for later is more heavily slanted towards dancing and drinking than I’d like. Either way we’ll have fun.

Last night we ate at Bite after getting into town, going upstairs afterwards to visit with Matt and Chris. The walk there took us by a handful of houses that I wished I lived in. Squatty old story-and-a-half homes with ornate window flourishes, squashed between the taller three story standards. My favorite has a large round window in the front that make it seem like the steering port of a house shaped submarine.

Were heading off to Leo’s for breakfast. I’m most looking forward to the birthday dinner at Alice and Friends. Veggie duck! — I’ve been waiting for months.

Thanks for spending my birthday with me Simon. It’s going to be fun, it would be even more fun if you choose to dance. I love birthday fun, especially when it includes veggie duck.

There is nothing better than Alice and Friends. Especially on a birthday. Best wishes to you Meredith (which is strange that I’m leaving this comment for her on your site but I figure…)

I loved them! I’m trying to resist the urge to wear them all at the same time on a single shirt. Also, thanks to you and Allison for the fashion magazines. We should hang out soon.
