As Far As I Can Tell

Careful with those nicknames

Irv Lorenzo, from Rap Mogul Charged in Drug Money Probe

No way, in any way, shape or form have I done anything wrong, except make great music that the people seem to love, and that’s all that I’m guilty of.

Whether or not he’s guilty, there are a few more things that one might consider wrong, or at least ill advised. Like taking on the nickname of “Gotti”, naming your record company “Murder Inc.”, and dubbing your studio “The Crackhouse”, all while publicly acknowledging your longtime friendship with a notorious drug lord.

It is a sad time right now in Bubblegum-Rap-World. What about Ja Rule? What will he do next? Another duet with Mariah Carey or J Lo? Will Ashanti be picked up on a new label? Will this hurt sales of her new record? We will just have to wait and see. ps. I will post my mix soon. Sorry it will not contain any hits from the Pop stars mentioned above.

I can only hope that the next duet between Ja Rule and Mariah Carey is either a Christmas hit, or a “We Are The World” style jam calling for the freedom of Gotti so that he might return to the Crackhouse.
